Hardwood Flooring Basics: What are different wood flooring types Part 2

B. Acrylic wood Floors:
When it comes to choosing the hardwood floors, you have many different options from solid wood flooring to laminate flooring, which both easy to install, but if we have to decide for a flooring type for non-residential area you can also consider acrylic-impregnated wood flooring, a floor covering often used in commercial properties In these the wood flooring is infused with sealant and a color throughout the thickness of the wood. So, what is normally a surface finish is actually consistent throughout the wood. This type of flooring is most commonly used in commercial, not residential, projects. This type of floor is very hard and it is highly resistant to moisture and scratches. Acrylic Resin Floor Paints are low cost floor paints, in terms of their price per litre but when we consider the fact that it requires a lot of effort to cover hardwood floors with acrylic paint we come to the conclusion it is not a low cost flooring to maintain especially in case for any given area when it is considered over more than a few months or even weeks of use. The best acrylic floor finish is durable, safe and sustainable and most importantly these are resistant to moisture and water but not all products are made the same, people need accurate information to decide what the best floor finish is for them and their family. This page will help you through that process and offer some background on acrylic, Pure acrylic is the safest option to go with as it is the strongest type of acrylic and it is less toxic compared to other acrylic paint options available. Engineered hardwood is made using three to four layers of wood glued together to produce a 14 mm thick plank. A real wood surface about 4 mm in thickness is applied to the top to allow it to be sanded and refinished a certain number of times to remove signs of damage, wear, and tear. It is not the same as laminate floor, the main difference in this type of wood and laminate flooring is that laminate flooring contains no actual wood.

 C. Laminate Flooring:
When investing in a new floor, many home owners are faced with a choice between hardwood and laminate. As mentioned above it is a multi-layer synthetic flooring product which is fused together with a process.  These floors are a very popular type used for covering homes' living areas, kitchens, dining areas, bedrooms, and hallways. These don't stand a good durability against moisture thus we have to make sure to install laminate flooring in places which are not subject to excessive moisture. These floors simulate wood with an applique layer under a clear protective layer. The inner core layer is usually composed of melamine resin and fiber board materials. Laminate flooring, in the last few years has grown significantly in popularity, mostly because it is easier to install and maintain than more traditional surfaces such as wooden strip/Hardwood floors. It may also have the advantages of costing less and requiring less skill to install than alternative flooring
